Cookie Policy

Last updated: January 2026

Short version: We use only a handful of strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in and keep the app secure. We use zero advertising or tracking cookies. You can clear cookies at any time in your browser settings.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site operator.

AutoPay uses a minimal number of cookies. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites, build advertising profiles, or sell data to third parties.

2. Cookies We Use

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the AutoPay application to function. The Service cannot be provided without them. They do not require your consent under NDPR.

Name Purpose Duration
ap_session Keeps you logged in across browser sessions. Contains an encrypted session token — no personal data. 30 days
ap_csrf Cross-site request forgery protection. Prevents malicious sites from making requests on your behalf. Session
ap_pref Stores your notification preferences (push, SMS, email toggles) so you don't have to set them each visit. 1 year

Analytics (None)

We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Hotjar, Facebook Pixel, or any other analytics or tracking service that places cookies on your device. When we need usage data, we use server-side logging that does not involve client-side cookies.

Advertising (None)

AutoPay runs no advertising and has no advertising partners. We use zero advertising cookies.

3. Third-Party Cookies

When you use the Paystack payment popup to authorise a schedule, Paystack may set their own cookies on your device as part of their payment security process. These are governed by Paystack's privacy policy, not ours.

When you load Google Fonts (used for typography on our landing page), Google may set cookies. You can opt out by disabling third-party cookies in your browser. Our app functions correctly without Google Fonts cookies.

4. localStorage (Web App)

Our web-based beta app uses your browser's localStorage (not cookies) to store your schedules, beneficiaries, and settings locally on your device. This data:

5. Managing Cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Here's how to do it in common browsers:

Please note: deleting the ap_session cookie will log you out of your AutoPay account. You will need to log in again.

6. Changes to This Policy

If we introduce any new cookies — for example if we add an analytics tool in future — we will update this policy and notify you by email before doing so.
